I think people are mobilizing for change, we are mad and even if Trump stays president the entire four years, we will not stand for it.

I think people are mobilizing for change, we are mad and even if Trump stays president the entire four years, we will not stand for it. This Electoral College system is wrong. They said on the news last night that it's not even distributed fairly according to population. If it was, California would have twice as many electoral votes as they have now. It has to be fixed so we don't end up with another tragedy like this in the future. |

Please spread messages of peace for us and make sure everyone knows that the majority of Americans don't support the results of this election and don't support his hateful rhetoric. He has already divided our country so much, and I fear more division if other countries are angry at us for his having been elected; the thought makes me cry.

Corporate, sold out, war-hungry Democratic party?? wtf...??? I think this guy is backwards! That video made my skin crawl. Why can't they look at this as voter fraud and do something? I'm all for doing SOMETHING, anything! Sorry, just ignore that part! (I think he's just fed up with the Dem party for whatever reason.) Yeah, unfortunately, the mainstream media will probably never cover this, and we will keep on being being cheated by unfair elections every four years, unless someone in authority takes it upon themselves to expose it. It seems to me that throughout the years there has been a decline in the number of Republicans in the country, and so they decide to suppress voters to keep themselves in power. The younger generation is seeing their outdated ideologies for what they are, so that's a good thing! |

Million Women March being planned for January 21, 2017 in D.C.On Friday, January 20 in Washington D.C., Donald Trump will be sworn in as the nation’s 45th president. The next day, a demonstration that aims to bring a million women and feminists to the nation’s capital will formally protest his inauguration as commander-in-chief. The idea for the mass protest, which will see marchers begin at the Lincoln Memorial and finish outside of the White House, is nascent — basic plans for the demonstration began popping up on Facebook within the last 24 hours. It appears the organizers are launching Facebook groups in individual states — so far 16 states have pages on the social media network. Organizers seemed to have some technical difficulties with the national page, so one of the local pages has been converted to what will now served as the national page. The group organizing the demonstration said it plans for protesters to “March from Lincoln Memorial to [the] White House to show our strength, power and courage and demonstrate our disapproval of the new president and his values in a peaceful march. ALL women, femme, trans, gender non-conforming and feminist others are invited to march on Washington DC the day following the inauguration of the President elect. This march is a show of solidarity to demand our safety and health in a time when our country is marginalizing us and making sexual assault an electable and forgivable norm. We align with all POC and LGBTQ causes, and we will show our support in a non-violent protest.” The New York Facebook group adds, “This is an INCLUSIVE march, and EVERYONE who supports women’s rights are welcome.” One thing organizers are suggesting is to be quick about reserving hotel accommodations in Washington, D.C. for the weekend. Hotel rooms are already expected to be limited thanks to the inauguration the day before, so reserving ASAP is advised. In addition, marches are being planned to take place around the country, so if traveling to the capital city isn’t feasible that weekend, there might be an event closer to home that protesters can take part in

In the Netherlands we have this childrensparty, called Sinterklaas. It is a bit similar to Santa Claus, but Sinterklaas is from Spain and his helpers are called "Zwarte Piet". They are similar to the elfs of Santa Claus. They are his helpers.
Now there is a discussion going on about the colour of this zwarte piet. They are black now. Some people think this is discrimanating because it should refer to slavery. There is nothing wrong with having that conversation. But the group of people who are against zwarte piet are to passionate about it and wants to demonstrate on the day itself. Please discuss about it the other 364 days of the year...
This Sinterklaas is coming to every town in the Netherlands, but only one city will picked out every year for the TV broadcast. This year my town is picked out. I have seen al the preparations because I live at the harbour where he comes in to town. In al these years, this was the first time this day made me sad. Because of this demonstrations and the fear of terorism attacks there were a lot of security measures. There were hundreds of cops in the city, the special force was there and there was a unit of the explosive security, there was a police helicopter, everyone had to go through detection gates. Just for a childrensparty. It made me so sad.
When did we got at the point where this party couldn't be an innocent party anymore.
Despite that, I am really glad the local government did everything to ensure the childrens safety....
