I don't think it's a single either. I think it's just a full length teaser for the album, and if it is even on the album, it's at the beginning or at the end.

Yeah but I'm not quite sure how its different from a single if it's not a b-side. If it is a full length teaser, why not just sell it as a single?

I just had a thought that's probably not gonna happen but whatever
What if LP6 is divided into two parts and this is the middle? The album could be like a night so the first half is before midnight and second is after

The B-side theory seems somewhat likely. But I think this song will actually be on the album, probably in the middle or at the end, as other people have said.

For me the song is OK except for the harmonizer/autotune on Chris' voice, definetly needs to grow on me over the next days! Really reminds me of an album opener or closer or maybe something like an interlude...
I am pretty sure that this won't be a real single like "magic" is believed to be, not even sure if this will be featured on LP6. In my opinion it sounds like this one is a standalone, considering the release of 'magic' in may being too far away. But on the other hand it seems like they're changing their whole website now...

It could even be like Major Minus, a b-side to etiaw that was also on the album.

I know its difficult to contain the excitement guys but more will be revealed within the next few days so we just have to stay patient. All I know is this could be the most intriguing phase of their careers.

Something's happening on coldplay.com. Earlier I used to be able to access Oracle/archive/news through direct links like www.coldplay.com/oracle.php or www.coldplay.com/recordings.php, but now I'm just getting redirected to the main page with the midnight video. Updates may be in progress! Edit: same with m.coldplay.com

Same here. Looks like they might be changing the layout into a more LP6 look?

I really like the dark side of Midnight. It's way different from what I expected to hear but my heart was trembling and beating like hell. Gave me goose bumps. So thumbsup. It may not be the intention of SpiegelONLINE or CODLPLAY but if you browse www.spiegel.de/kultur/musik/coldplay-exklusive-videopremiere-von-midnight-a-955618.html WITH YOUR SMARTPHONE you can even download the video for free. I just clicked on the play button and then I got asked if I want to dowload the video or if I want to watch the video :uhoh: So I have it on my phone now

What if the album is simply entitled 'Coldplay'? If today's track release is anything to go by then it's almost a complete reinvention in sound and style and could be more than justified in the same way Blur did it in 1997. Even The Beatles did but, of course, that album came to be known as The White Album. Chris's friend Danny McNamara has gone with this idea with 'Embrace' being released in late April. Perhaps he and Coldplay have been inspired to do the same?

I like the idea of just "Coldplay". Critics from big name magazines like Rolling Stones and NME are praises it, which is pretty awesome because those two magazines haven't praised Coldplay since Viva. So I'm pretty pumped.
