I'm sensing Midnight isn't intended for LP6 and if that is the case, then its what Avicii was working with them for. He may not be credited but his input may have been minimal.

the collaboration was Avicii with Chris Martin, not Coldplay. It doesn't make any sense, why would avicii do a song with chris martin and then not taking any credits? not even tweeting about it or something? Also said collaboration is going to appear on Avicii's album

Maybe LP6 will be titled "M", featuring only Tracks starting with M like Midnight,Magic... Edit: But in case they want to include a colour, there's not that much choice alongside Magenta  |

If the new album has a intricate guitar solo(gilmour style) and transcendental trippy music, with synth and remnants of Chris' beautiful voice being prominent in essential parts along with the auto-tune , I will be happy! :P

What if the album is simply entitled 'Coldplay'? If today's track release is anything to go by then it's almost a complete reinvention in sound and style and could be more than justified in the same way Blur did it in 1997. Even The Beatles did but, of course, that album came to be known as The White Album. Chris's friend Danny McNamara has gone with this idea with 'Embrace' being released in late April. Perhaps he and Coldplay have been inspired to do the same? Please no. There is nothing I hate more than seeing bands with self-titled albums. Simply put, it's very lazy and lacks any sort of thought. Coldplay are much better than that. |

I hope they won't release a self-titled album because, until now, more or less every album had a central theme that ran through all songs. This concept was always represented by the title. What concept or theme would a album called "Coldplay" represent? It could represent their ambition for change. They are always pushing themselves to explore greater depths and create something unique. So if they name LP6 Coldplay, it could represent what they stand for possibly. That's my line of thinking, too. Midnight is very "un-Coldplay." Not just in the sound, but also in its purpose. Never have they been so unlike themselves. But that's the point. Sure, Coldplay have an extensive back-log of classics, but it's their ambition and their willingness to change that drives them forward as a group. They've had this spirit since Brian Eno came in, in my opinion. I feel like titling the album "Coldplay" is them saying, "This album defines us. This is what we're about. This is how we approach music." CHANGE. |
