Allright, I know it is only March. But so far how has 2014 treated you?
It's been an interesting one for Coldplayers so far hasn't it? We've had Coldplaying going down then up, then down then up.. Then with the band there has been all the album news, and two songs released. The iTunes gig.. then all the LA ones. So much excitement interspersed with uncertainty. Chris on the Voice. Now we hear about Chris and Gwyneth.... talk about a roller coaster.
Personally, I've had stuff going on in my life, my son, who is nearly 16 is having issues. A bit stressful here with that. My cat has been in the vet yesterday to have all her teeth out. Work has been manic and it sometimes feels like I don't have enough space in my head to think about it all.
How has the year treated you so far? is it a good year, or a bad one?

As a coldplayer, this year has been pure craziness so far!!! ... Personally, I'm trying to deal with the constant demands of being a stay at home mom. My son, who just turned 10, is brilliant, but we are starting to argue all the time. He has always been wise beyond his years, so I think we are hitting the "tween" rough patch already. My first daughter ( age 6) is a wonderful dancer . She's in tap, ballet and hip hop classes. And I refuse to become a " dance mom" lol. My youngest daughter ( age 2) is as stubborn as a mule, and hitting her terrible 2s in stride. She wants to be like her big sis, but it appears gymnastics are in her future!(she tumbles all over my home) . Last year was a rough one, so I'm glad to have a little bit of normalcy so far for 2014. ( Sorry I rattled on about my kiddos, they are a major part of my life.)

Where to start?? Every single year, for at least the last 13 year, isn't a real happy year. Unfortunally I've got a familiy who are causing troubles. When i've dealed with one problem, the next one is standing at my door. It forced me into choices which you actually don't want to make. All those years (and still), I am not truly happy. That said, I am really lucky with a lovely husband, who is really sweet and supporting. We started 2014 as a couple who is together for 12,5 years. At this point we are trying to get pregnant, unfortuanally still without luck. Also a thing which is driving me nuts. Music was always a way to keep my feet on the ground. It was a way to express myself. I play in a marchingband, which is a kind of family for me. Last summer I discovered Coldplay. Of course I know some songs, but never explored them. But that summer I definitly fall in love. A lot of songs express the feelings I have all the time. But Coldplay also gave me a kind of energy I missed for a long time. I am having a lot of fun by discovering songs, concerts and interviews. And so I want to thank you Coldplayers, for the fun time we are having on this board. That was just what I needed!  |

To Row: I'm sorry about your cat. That has to be tough. My cat is slowly but surely starting to go blind, and it's never easy to see a pet we love go through health issues. :(. To Prisseb: I hope that someday you can have the child you want. Miracles happen all the time, and Im pulling for one to happen for you. It great that you have a husband that you love and that loves you back. It's terrific to have someone to support you through life's hardships.

I can't believe we're almost April already, this year is flying by! I think the things that I was looking forward to for this year still have to happen (Ghost Stories, concerts, graduating from highschool, starting uni) and it's all so exciting so I'm a happy person now. I couldn't say that last year at this point, so so far this year rules for me |

I'll start with the bad. Two years ago I left high school, and ever since then I've been struggling to find work, and money is very tight right now. This year so far hasn't been any better, although I have made at least some progress, I scored my first interview, which unfortunately didn't go too well. Still looking. And above all, right now I just feel lonely. I just want someone to love and cuddle and talk silly with. I noticed that pretty much every track on Ghost Stories tells exactly how I'm feeling right now, which is why it's one of my favorite albums thus far. All the bad is taking a toll on my emotions which is why I find myself online almost all day just to find an escape. I apologize for projecting my negativity onto you guys, so on with the good. For starters, new Coldplay material is always good  and with rumors of another release as early as next year, that's even better! This year and last year have great for me in terms of music. All of my favorite talents are releasing new stuff and it's just great. So plenty of new things to look forward to in lieu of bad times, which makes me happy and helps me keep going. Again, I'm sorry for my negativity  but I'm sure things will get better in the long run. |

Don't apologize, this is a place for both good and bad times  This work situation in many countries especially for young people (guessing you're young) makes me SO MAD. It's such a waste! There is so much to do, you are needed in so many places. I wish employers, society, the world would handle it differently. Internet is a great place to be, but please don't forget the rest of the world. Have you thought about doing charity work? It has helped me so much. Just a suggestion, it takes some effort but gives so much back. I'm glad you have music, what would we do without it?! Thank you for bringing this thread back to life, was going to post here but forgot. Will think about my 2014 so far. I hope things will get better very soon, for what it's worth you have my good thoughts  |

My year has been incredible so far. You never know what happens, but I had a great time from January to the 1st June, so at the moment I think 2014 could be a great year. 2013 was a very tough one and I am really glad it's over. It was probably the hardest time of my life.
Now in 2014, I finally saw Coldplay performing live, Coldplay released Ghost Stories, I reconciled with a friend, I passed a uni test I thought I wouldn't pass (and which I would have to do again) and life feels easier in general. At the moment I am just really happy and I wish this year will continue that way.

As a coldplayer, this year has been amazing.
Personally... My heart was torn out last December and I started the new year alone. My girlfriend broke up with me over the phone 2492 miles away. We're in colleg now and we have been friends since 4th grade. She's always been in my head and every single song I write is still about her. There's no one better than her.. She's here right now in my town over the summer... Life has had its ups and down but that's to be expected.

JovianThunder, I know exactly what you mean. As a coldplayer, this year has been amazing. Personally... My heart was torn out last December and I started the new year alone. My girlfriend broke up with me over the phone 2492 miles away. We're in colleg now and we have been friends since 4th grade. She's always been in my head and every single song I write is still about her. There's no one better than her.. She's here right now in my town over the summer... Life has had its ups and down but that's to be expected. She broke up with you over the phone?  That's really mean. I believe such things should be talked about face to face.... Hope 2014 will be better for you |

I'm sorry, this is too hard to talk about. :( :( don't you have common friends? maybe they can help you... it must be really hard for you, i hope everything gets better :( 2014 was pretty busy for me. I don't even remember what I did in february or march. My lectures were so hard, i had almost every week exams, quizzes, homeworks etc.. and also I applied for internships, attended the meetings. now summer has come, i hope i can have 2-3 week of holiday in august! |
