So, I'm out here (can't call it the middle of nowhere, the nearest bus stop is a few minutes walk away lol but still) in garden land with my new tablet (yay!) and a mobile router.
This will take some time and stupid questions to get used to.
First q: why should I use an app like Tapatalk in stead of Chrome and the usual forum page like I'm doing now? Is Chrome taking more bandwidth?
Can't find a satisfying answer on Google. Could you please help?

Tapatalk or the proboards app is a little more simple to use then go to the site every time. The app keep you logged in and is more friendly with posting. But you can use both. There isn't a satisfying answer. You just have to expereince what you like to use the best....

Thank you! My concern was that Chrome would eat more of my limited fast bandwidth but if it doesn't it's great. I'll try both ways. This is frustrating but also fun

The apps could use more data when you have notifications on. But you could switch your roaming of if data limits is your concern.

Uhm... now it gets difficult I'll figure out what that means and how. It's surprising I'm even allowed near a computer. And time will tell how much bandwidth data? I actually use, it's the first month I have this. Welcome to the 2000s chipotle edit: I think it's called data, not bandwidth lol stupid but learning

It's whatever is easier for you. And to which you prefer.

Roaming means your phone is constantly checking if there are any updates. You can switch that of and only check on demand.

^ Oh no...must've been an unpleasant surprise :( I think I've found the roaming switch-off, it was called automatic data synchronising. I love learning

LOL I remember that when I bought a new mobile phone and inserted my pre-paid card, it automatically connected to the internet without warning. Fortunately there were only 3€ left on it, so the loss was insignificant but it could have been much worse. Always check your mobiles! They can be real beasts

So I got it in the mail today, after 4 months waiting, a new SIM card with money-free internet. In stead of money you pay with your time and watch commercials (which could lead to spending money in the end anyway lol).
I'm sceptical, I switch channel when it's time for ads, but I'm going to try. Why? Mobile internet providers here don't offer very good deals.

Well, the offers here aren't great either (anymore), but internet on your phone is helpfull...
