www.walmart.com/ip/19415347 This would be a converter that would work. However, these are quite expensive, so it might make sense to check which ouput ports your laptop and which input ports your tv has, to find a cheaper solution.

Away from my keyboard...kinda sucks! LOL
Anyway... Virus alert! Please read!
OK guys be really careful of this virus. I've been battling this for months. It's a fake Java update and it makes it look like Java wants you to download an update. I'm so mad at myself because I'm usually really careful with these things, but I had two windows open on my computer and I didn't realize it, and it popped up in the window BEHIND the one I was working in, and I clicked on it too fast without paying attention thinking it was a pop-up alert from Java. I realized it was a virus right away and stopped the download, but it had already put tons of crap in my computer. It doesn't register as a virus and it can't be removed by Windows defender, it puts fake extensions in my Google chrome and it puts fake programs in my programs list, and then it hijacks my browser trying to take me to a fake website. I haven't figured out how to remove it yet and it keeps inserting itself into my computer making my computer unusable, and I keep having to go in and manually delete the fake extensions and uninstall the fake programs, but then it keeps coming back. So BE CAREFUL!!! If I could get my hands on the losers that make these viruses. I guess some people have nothing better to do than sit on a computer trying to figure out how to ruin other people's lives. All of my classes are online. I can't take my tests for school if I can't get on my computer!!! I need it! Oh well end of my rant. You can move this to the rant thread if you want LOL.

I had a feeling the outside world is overrated Thank you! I have a Java update waiting, been ignoring it and now I will keep doing that. I looks kind of dodgy. That really sucks, I'm sorry you have to deal with that crap! Imagine having all that knowledge and talent and use it to make viruses

Omg, that is infuriating. It's hard to believe that people do this for no reason whatsoever except to be mean. I'm so sorry. I know you have school work and I hope that you can work it out soon. Hugs.

I don't get the fun of virsusses either. They do a lot these days to destroy your computer. Leann, don't you know someone or a little shop which is specialized in those things? It could help you....

Thank you...I think I've managed to find all the places they're hiding these things and I can keep deleting them until I get rid of the thing for good. From now on I'll make sure to go the the Java website for any updates and not click on anything that pops up! Thanks Prissie...I think I can manage to figure out how to get it off my computer myself but it will probably involve a lot of time and research on the internet and digging around my computer. Such a pain. Stupid stupid virus makers! You guys suck!!!

I remember thinking that my pc got a virus when it was still quite new. In fact it was the hard drive which didn't work correctly LOL It kept on clicking when I wanted to boot my pc and one day, it stopped booting. My current issues are a bit more complicated. It's not that easy to find Win7 drivers for a pc which is more than 8 years old... haha but it is a challenge to get everything to work

It's not Java that is the issue, it's a virus that installs malware on your computer pretending to be Java.
I would recommend you download and install malware bytes Leann... You can get a free trial, and it cleans up the malware, which this program installs. I did the same thing, clicked on the link, thinking it was real update. But I subsequently got popups, it changed my browser, it added all this rubbish I didn't want in there. Malware bytes fixed it for me.

I'm trying to save some videos I'm watching online and it's driving me CRAZY. I'm using Download Helper. They are in .f4f format which seems to be the problem. Q 1: Those files can't be opened with the usual simple players (VLC, Windows Media Player), right? Downloading works fine, but not opening them on my computer. I'd have to get file extensions and that's something I shouldn't do with my limited knowledge. Q 2: Have you tried the Streaming Video Recorder? Is it good? Did it cause any problems, have any malware? I'm not saving the videos to upload and spread them, just for myself to watch
