Good idea!
If I can't sleep it's usually my own fault. I'm often a bit sleepy around 10-11pm but I don't want to go to bed so early. I stay up later and later and then bam! can't sleep. Routines are not my strongest side. This thread will be a good reminder (and good company).
Occasionally I do have real insomnia and that's awful, I feel so bad for people who often suffer from this.

Me too.. I've been there, I think we all have on occasions. Right now I am sleeping pretty well, but I am a very light sleeper and the smallest noise wakes me. So I need my own space when that happens so I can sleep. Andy is a chronic 'twitcher' when I am sleeping well, it doesn't bother me. When I'm not.. well he has to sleep somewhere else! LOL!

Dont want to complain about the lovely warm weather but its not helping my sleep. When I come home after my night shift, on a summer morn its perfect, lovely fresh feel, and I usually go to sleep quite quickly BUT then im waking far too soon because its too warm Im in work tonight so after only 4 hours sleep today I will have to have a catch up snooze later

I sometimes have the issue of falling asleep earlier in the evening--like seven or eight, sleep for two hours, then wake up and cannot get back to sleep until 2:30 or three! Some of our habits are hard to break. There are some know things we can do to sleep better.
Don't nap Don't drink coffee in the afternoon and evening Don't be on computer too late at night (overstimulation) Don't keep a TV in your bedroom Only use bedroom for sleep and, well, you know Exercise in the afternoon Do some sort of yoga or stretching to relax you in the evening Listen to Coldplay before you go to bed (the soothing songs, like For You, Oceans, most of Parachutes)
OK, I added that last one on my own!

Add me to the sleepless people! Not only am I needing to diet, but I'm needing to sleep too. In my case, though, I'm sure that a lot of it is hormonal and getting older. If I can fall asleep, I wake up a lot during the night. On the other hand, I'm not helping the situation by staying up past the time I feel sleepy, then I get a second wind and before you know it, it's the wee hours of the morning.
The list is good, kitty, especially the last one!

I use mynoise.net to help get to sleep. That looks good. I am not having a lot of sleeping problems at this moment, but I will keep this in mind!

Writing could help? I know that helps me personally when I can't sleep.
